Experts from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Verimatrix recently hosted a webinar to talk about reimagining content distribution today - here, we share our answers to the questions submitted by the audience during the live broadcast, particularly around the architecture we put forward known as federated rights management (FRM).

Verimatrix is a global leader in the practical application of forensic video watermarking solutions, which enable pay-TV business models that feature high-value programming including Ultra HD (UHD)/4K, Live Sports and Early Release Window content. The company first pioneered client-side payload insertion in the video output of set-top boxes with its VideoMark solution. It has since extended its product offer with StreamMark, which performs server-side watermark insertion in digital content.

StreamMark® supports a highly efficient server-side process to embed robust, secure and imperceptible watermarks in digital content before delivery to each client device. It is ideally suited for adaptive bitrate streaming protocols such as HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and standard MPEG-DASH, and it satisfies studio requirements for premium Early Release Window and UHD on-demand  content.

StreamMark is a stand-alone watermarking solution, independent of CAS/DRM systems.
