IBC 2015 – It’s All About Connections
Every September, the annual IBC Show attracts more than tens of thousands of attendees from every sector of the electronic media and entertainment industry. The goal? To connect with key players from each field to discuss and debate industry challenges, as well as witness the latest innovations and technology unveiled by the industry’s major players.
We are excited for our theme of this year’s event, as it is also one of connections. In short, we want to demonstrate how we’ve dramatically broadened our reach in globally interconnected revenue security. Connectivity is at the heart of the Software Empowered Video Operator series of e-books we have been distributing throughout the past 18 months, and it is certainly at the heart of the products and services we want to offer to these next generation video service businesses.
We will be unveiling Verspective™ Analytics, a new suite of services underpinned by the Verspective™ Intelligence Center, which leverages the inherent power in globally interconnected instances of VCAS™ to aggregate data. We have built this platform to help operators harness the power of detailed yet secure subscriber behavior and usage visibility. We will have several new announcements in this area, so stay tuned…
This new offering joins the Verspective™ Monitoring premium service capability, which draws on performance, resource usage and network integrity information to help reduce operational costs and improve solution integrity.
Also at our booth, we will be featuring the latest e-book edition in the Software-Empowered Video Operator series, “Getting a ‘Verspective’ on Secure Multi-screen Analytics.” This fourth installment explains the value that a connected security platform can bring to network and subscriber analytics – and how it can take big data to a new level.
We anticipate UHD and OTT security will continue to be hot topics, so naturally our VCAS Ultra™ and Verimatrix MultiRights™ solutions will be on display. We will be talking about some specific developments in each area that are worth taking a closer look (expanded VideoMark capability, longer list of supported DRMs, and integrated Amazon Fire TV set-top and Fire stick support).
Although some of these developments are aimed at systems yet to be built, we want to show how operators are already exploiting these themes in current service architectures. Progressive operators are of course capitalizing on opportunities presented by these advances to meet consumer demands to view content anywhere, anytime, on any device. This topic will be closely examined at our fourth Annual IBC Multi-network Solutions in the Real World Forum, “Creating Connected Video Experiences: Extending the Value of IP.”
On the morning of Saturday, September 12th, immediately following the 4K 4Charity Fun Run, industry experts from Telefonica, Alcatel-Lucent, Google, Kaltura and Verimatrix will share their case study deployments that highlight how operators are creating highly connected environments by leveraging the best elements from IPTV and Internet TV. Nigel Walley of Decipher Media Consultants will deftly moderate discussion points on the advantages of combining physical and cloud-based infrastructures, strategies in developing complementary and additive service models, and approaches to creating partner ecosystems that deliver more connected video experiences.
All show attendees are invited to join this complimentary event for what promises to be a delicious breakfast – including Bloody Marys this year – and an even more enjoyable discussion. The event is free to attend, but seating is limited, so I encourage you to sign up today.
If you will be attending next week’s show, be sure to visit out booth #4.A59 and experience our new barista station. Those who have not yet registered for IBC can receive complimentary entry to the IBC 2015 Exhibition with our code 1225.
