We are very proud to bring a new way of thinking to the video industry. Today we launched Viewthority, which we describe as a connected content distribution platform. It is essentially a new distribution model that connects content providers with video service operators via a common cloud platform in a way that has not been done before.

Lionel Bringuier PM Director – Delivery Products at AWS Elemental, and myself took some time to answer the most pressing questions submitted by attendees in regard to the agility and flexibility offered by cloud solutions.

The way pirated media content is both created and consumed has changed dramatically since the advent of IP video distribution and associated OTT services. The same infrastructure and tools that have revolutionized video distribution and enabled an explosion of content, as well as in the ways of viewing it, have also been exploited by pirates for illicit redistribution.

It is predicted that revenues lost to online piracy will nearly double between 2016 and 2022 to $51.6 billion. This is due, in part, by the redistribution of live sports and premium VoD content through illegal OTT streaming services. Fortunately, Video watermarking is the most effective solution to track illegal redistribution of high-value content and identify the source behind it.

Over the past year, we have experienced strong market interest and industry accolades in our solution that we’ve been calling Federated Rights Management. In fact, we won two Connies awards – Video Technology Hero and the competition’s highest honor, The Grand Prix – earlier this year for its ability to improve the efficiency and traceability of premium content distribution.

Many video service providers are aware that wide-ranging benefits spanning most of their operations can be gained from their data, but they often feel overwhelmed by the task of processing it – let alone deriving valuable insights. Yet they also hear about early adopters of data analytics reducing churn, boosting new subscriber acquisitions, increasing engagement among existing customers and bearing down on revenue theft and want to reap the same benefits.
