Verimatrix Wins with VCAS at the Communications Technology Platinum Awards
I am very happy to announce that VCAS for Internet TV featuring enhanced HLS security recently won a Communications Technology Platinum Award in the Digital Rights Management, Conditional Access and Authentication category! The winners were announced during SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
The annual industry event recognizes outstanding broadband-technology products and services used by voice, video and data providers. We are absolutely delighted that Verimatrix’s VCAS has won this prestigious award for the second year in a row. This is also the second award bestowed upon Verimatrix in as many months since we won the prestigious CSI Award during IBC in Amsterdam.
With the constant expansion of over-the-top (OTT) and mobile video access, we have developed a solution to the challenge faced by traditional and new operators alike in optimally monetizing valuable content and services across a multi-network, multi-screen environment. With VCAS for Internet TV, we are able to help operators transform their multi-screen challenges into opportunities for growth.
Powered by our VCAS platform, VCAS for Internet TV provides a complete multi-screen security solution for OTT video services over networks implementing the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol. The HLS protocol enables the optimization of the video quality for any given bandwidth and client device screen resolution. VCAS for Internet TV, which supports the HLS protocol, secures OTT services to multiple screens and across multiple transports, including both broadcast and video-on-demand delivery.
Operators like this solution because it facilitates a multi-layered security approach and can be deployed either as a standalone solution for dedicated OTT services, or as part of a multi-network solution including IPTV, DVB, hybrid, and other network topologies under a unified VCAS security head-end. VCAS for Internet TV provides the same high level of digital TV security that Verimatrix has been recognized for in 500+ pay-TV deployments, while allowing operators to optimize content security for different networks, consumer devices and customers, all within a single platform.
Flexibility is the key to innovation, and we are thrilled that the Communications Technology judging panel has validated our flexible approach to revenue security with an award.
