Powerful and Flexible Stream Encryption Server
The Verimatrix Real Time Encryption Server is an option for the Video Content Authority System (VCAS) that performs all necessary stream formatting and video encryption for multi-channel broadcast support within IPTV deployments. In conjunction with the Verimatrix Content Security Manager (CSM), which generates and distributes the necessary keys, RTES performs real-time encryption of multicast IP transport streams containing compressed video in an MPEG-2 transport stream format, preserving the input bandwidth profile to ensure consistent provisioning. Management information is inserted within each stream in null packets or ECMs which can be extracted and used by the ViewRight client software to request the appropriate decryption key.
RTES interoperates with the network middleware to manage channel based subscriber entitlements or, as an option, can support a system based on service classes, which can offer a dynamic bouquet of content types on each channel, together with content rating and viewing limits. RTES offers clustered operation to scale from one to potentially hundreds of simultaneous channels and to provide automatic failure to ensure continuity of service.
