Verimatrix Demonstrates User-Specific Forensic Watermarking on Leading Amino IPTV Set-top Box
Availability of VideoMark on AmiNET125 Will Provide Operators with Advanced Protection Features on Proven Cost-Effective Platform
April 16, 2007
NAB2007, Las Vegas , April 16, 2007 – Verimatrix, setting the standard in content security technologies that enhance the value of pay-TV networks, today announced the VideoMark™ forensic watermarking technology is in the final process of integration with Amino ’s AmiNET125 set-top box (STB) for commercial deployments. Driven by significant operator demand, Verimatrix and Amino , recently ranked as the world leading IPTV platform supplier, are able to demonstrate a combination of VCAS and VideoMark content security capabilities in the most proven and future-proof standard definition STB for IPTV and Internet TV applications. A live demonstration of VideoMark on the AmiNET125 will be featured at NAB2007 in Verimatrix’s booth C2651.
VideoMark user-specific, forensic watermarking technology enables pirated content to be tracked back to its last legal recipient. VideoMark extends the security perimeter of IPTV distribution through the so-called “analog hole” and provides a platform far better suited to deter piracy than competing digital or analog techniques. The leading multi-codec AmiNET125 features an advanced, low-cost chipset and highly flexible audio and video outputs that provide a powerful means of delivering sophisticated interactive digital television including multicast, on demand video and Internet access.
“As Amino gains market penetration, it is important for us to continue offering leading-edge platform solutions. Integrating with VideoMark is a response to market demand and provides a solution that stays ahead of content owner requirements,” said Roy Kirsopp , VP & general manager at Amino . “We are excited to partner with Verimatrix to offer this advanced platform, which ultimately helps future-proof IPTV operators’ networks.”
Invisible, user-specific watermarks create an environment with unique advantages to effectively secure content delivered via a STB. In anticipation of content owners mandating the use of digital watermarking, a number of significant operators around the world are deploying VideoMark forensic watermarking as a component of their layered content security strategy. In addition, integration and deployment costs are minimal since VideoMark is a pure software upgrade that does not require any disruptions or hardware upgrades for existing customers.
“This integration with Amino further validates VideoMark in the market and our overall technology roadmap,” said Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer. “A strong IPTV partnership ecosystem is good for our customers and is good for the industry. We truly value the growing force of our IPTV partners to help rollout innovative technologies.”
